Aletheia Bible Fellowship is a Bible-believing church. We believe in a strong apologetic discourse of the Bible, a fierce hunger for a relevant relationship with God through Jesus of Nazareth, and an intense vulnerability before each other as Christ commanded. With a small congregation of about 50 members and a young demographic of children, teens, and young families, we are a very active and tight-knit community.

You can find out more about our beliefs by exploring our Church Constitution.

Aletheia associates with the CBNW and celebrated its 10 year anniversary in 2014.

THE BIBLE

Aletheia Bible Fellowship is a Bible-believing church. We believe that the Bible in its original language and its translations are subject to the hermeneutical context in which it was written. All translations which produce an accurate transmission of this context are honest and true. We adhere to the tenets therein as absolutely authoritative, immutable and complete in their application to the worldview of our fellowship and Christianity at large.

DOCTRINE

We believe in the Bible as informative of all aspects of life. We believe that the Bible is God’s divine revelation into creation in order to create tenants by which man may live in right harmony with his creator.

AFFILIATIONS

We do not knowingly involve ourselves with ideas, goals, actions or persons that violate, seek to circumvent, diminish or exclude these tenants as a matter of partnership.

INTERPRETATIONS OF INTERACTION

The tenets of scripture are interpreted by the congregationally affirmed and biblically qualified Eldership of Aletheia Bible Fellowship in light of the accountability of the church universal in its most inclusive sense, from the largest whole to its smallest member. It is interpreted against the weight of previous interpretations, including the wealth of orthodox theology as well as the canon of scripture affirmed in the council of Nicea. It is measured against the Old Testament canon endorsed by the voice of Jesus Christ in his ownership of the Septuagint. It is weighed against the evidence of God witnessed in the breadth of his creation including the heart of men, the psychology of men, and nature itself. It is measured against established historical data.

RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ELDERSHIP

Wherein these weights do not create a substantial ruling as to the ideas, goals, actions or persons which these weights seek to inform, the Eldership of Aletheia Bible Fellowship determines these factors with the weight of their own experience in transparent and accountable congress as extra-biblical principles useful for specific hermeneutical truths not necessarily connected to the general overarching narrative of God’s plan for humanity found within scripture.

ADDITIONAL SPECIFIC CORE PRESUPPOSITIONS

The Eldership of Aletheia Bible Fellowship in matters of social principles endorses with prejudice:

-the familial relationship found in a naturally occuring, genetically xx and xy partnership, defined in monogamy of heart, mind, and soul before God and man and following his hierarchy of submission, demonstrated by the polity of the Trinity and outlined in the heteronormativity of the Bible.

-the people of Israel as the chosen people of God to convey his narrative for mankind.

-we affirm the sovereign state of Israel as an outworking of God’s plan for his people and a fulfillment of biblical prophecy.

-the sanctity of mankind as made in God’s image, created for a purpose and intrinsically connected to God.

-the sovereignty of God in all matters and the holiness of his people in matters of partnerships.

The Eldership of Aletheia Bible Fellowship in matters of social principles will not endorse:

-glorification of ideas which violate as a matter of principle, those things which seek to usurp the biblical tenants on any level. This includes but is not limited to the: spiritual, mental, physical, or psychological level.

-this may include things which outside of the biblical context and extra-biblical context include things that:

-glorify spirituality, demons, angels or the metaphysical

-diminish the station of human beings on a physical, mental or psychological level

-glorify inappropriate relationships between God’s creation on a physical, mental or psychological level

-promote a contrary doctrine as a matter of intent, indifference or ignorance

WHAT KIND OF PROGRAMS DO YOU HAVE AVAILABLE TO SOMEONE LIKE ME?

ABF has many resources and programs available. We invite you to check out our online podcasts and content as well as see the multiple resources that flow out of our church body that focus on things like counseling, faith confirmation, education and doctrine. If you would like to learn more about any of our resources feel free to contact us.

I SEE QUITE A FEW KIDS IN THE PARKING LOT. WHY IS THAT?

Our ministry includes an education advocacy program called the Developmental Cadre and we support parents and students of all ages in their diverse educational paths. Throughout the year classes and recess times are held in the parking lot.

Our church also has another program that provides care for our church body 24/7. This ministry, called Haven, has young families that help to caretake the building and be a part of the local community. As such, you may see them playing in the parking lot. Feel free to say hello to them if you see them in the parking lot, tending the garden beds or doing various work around the building. They are your neighbors and are there to provide an anchor in our commuter society.

ARE THERE RESTRICTIONS ON USEAGE OF YOUR PARKING LOT?

Yes, we have plenty of times throughout the day that are not “booked” from one of our many resources. Due to the constant schedule changes there are no specific times listed, but if you see that no other group is using the parking lot you may use the space for play and other approved activities. Please see “acceptable parking lot usage.” These times are subject to change as our needs arise, but our staff is friendly and wanting to share our resource as much as is possible.

WHAT ARE ACCEPTABLE LOT USAGES?

We see this space as a valuable resource for the community. We encourage play, outside sport activities, group games and open space fun. With that said, we do want to lay some ground rules if you will.

  • Please maintain quiet hours and only use the parking lot between dusk-dawn, if open and not otherwise occupied.
  • We are a drug and alcohol-free zone, this includes marijuana.
  • Please pick up after yourself or your animal.
  • Be respectful of others.

It should be noted that use of our parking lot is at your own risk. We can not be held responsible for injury or damage that may result in your usage. When you use our parking lot, you are acknowledging that you understand this and will be solely responsible for what happens there.

CAN I PARK IN YOUR PARKING LOT?

We get this question quite a lot being so close to Hawthorne and Belmont. Due to the nature of the space, being used by multiple resources, we try to limit parking so as to not block off the space. If you are in need of short term parking please contact us and we can talk about meeting your needs. At this time we do not allow for long term parking. Please see our Parking Lot Policy for more information.
